University of Colorado Boulder students who are charged with violating the law very often will also face disciplinary sanctions from the University which can include suspension or even expulsion from the University. Common violations include drug and alcohol arrests, DUI/DWI, minor in possession of alcohol, criminal mischief, theft, assault, and sexual assault.

C.U. students are subject to the University's Code of Conduct, and any violations may result in a hearing before the C.U. Office of Judicial Affairs which is responsible for enforcing the Code.
